I work in the Student Information Centre which is generally the first point of contact for students, staff and parents. Day-to-day life includes handling general queries, admissions, bursary and attendance. No two days are the same and I particularly enjoy the interaction with the students.

Jamie's background is in Youth Work and education. He has worked and volunteered with young people in various settings including mentoring, youth clubs and at a London secondary school. Jamie currently works in programme management at the Greater London Authority supporting the Mayor's mission to help Londoners to get the skills they need to enter and progress in employment. Living just round the corner from Monoux, Jamie is keen to be a Governor in his local community.

Moshiur is an A-level student studying maths, physics and computer science at Monoux College. He is working towards the goal of studying computer science at university, while helping the college. He is currently the Media Manager of the Student Council and tries his best to help the students around him. Moshiur applied for the Student Governor role to help out the community of the college in a wider sense, whilst also gaining the opportunity to work and learn from all the other members of the College Corporation.

Marian Orafu is a reputable and highly regarded professional with over 20 years of experience in Programme/Project Management and Executive Administration Management working within the NHS, education, VCS and SMEs sectors. She is known for her leadership and management skills and her passion to support young people, especially those with lived experiences, at risk and hard to reach to achieve their dreams and potential. Marian has supported various senior leadership teams and governors by creating, implementing, and developing processes and procedures to improve productivity, continuity and sustainability while maintaining business as usual. Currently, Marian works for the NHS, overseeing programmes and projects across the North Central London footprint which aims to enhance training, education and workforce development, with a specific focus on enhancing recruitment of new, and retention of current NHS staff.

In addition, Marian is a non-executive Director for an organisation supporting young girls and women and their children who have suffered from domestic violence. Providing them with a wraparound service consisting of legal advice, counselling, mental health and wellbeing programmes and more.

Rosali has practised as a solicitor in the City of London for over 25 years. Specialising in financial markets, her clients include banks, brokers and fund managers. She is a freeman of the Drapers Company, a trustee of an almshouse and a parish counsellor for Fordwich in Kent.

With accreditation from the British Psychological Society (BPS) and an Honours, Nazerine completed her early career as developing the Psychology curriculum at a single-sex inner London secondary school. Nazerine managed to showcase dedication beyond the classroom by becoming Head of whole-school Gifted and Talented. Furthering her love for all things neuroscience, she is now Pathway Leader at Sir George Monoux College. Nazerine has completed her NPQSL and NPQHL and joined the Corporation in January 2024.

Tracey has managed a beauty business as a sole proprietor and worked in the Government Sector for over 15 years, mainly within UK Courts. She has over 13 years experience in business leadership, management, and operational delivery. Tracey's passion is mentoring, and she brings expertise in mentoring from across different industries such as the Government Sector, Education and Third Sector and has incorporated mentoring within every facet of her working career. Tracey has recently engaged in education consultancy on pedagogy, curriculum, module design, student support, assessment and delivery of pedagogy and assessments, quality assurance of education. She is dedicated to SoTL through recently working recently with the Open University's SCiLAB (Scholarship Centre for online legal and business education) and working with Open University academics on CoCrea8LT, a research project looking at co-creation of technology courses. Tracey is a Chartered Member of CIPD, Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Educational Assessors (CIEA), Member of the UK Register of Career Development Professionals, she sits on the CIEA Board of Trustees and has held Chair for an EDI Committee as well as Chair for Board of Directors of an educational consultancy.

After a period of teaching, Andy retrained as a chartered accountant. Until his retirement in 2021, he was a senior tax partner at PwC, and worked with many global organisations. His driving passion has been working to improve the social mobility landscape of the country. For the last 14 years he has been involved in a wide range of social mobility projects from the strategic to the operational which continues to be the main focus of his energies.

Sara started her career as an English teacher in a secondary comprehensive school in Newham and she maintains a keen interest in the education sector. A career change saw her qualifying as an accountant at KPMG, where she continues to work in a Sustainability Assurance role. She lives locally.

Dave has been Principal of our college since 2016. He has worked in the college sector since 1992 and has been a sixth form college Principal since 2010. Dave started his career as a teacher in colleges in Hampshire. He holds a first degree (BA in Modern Languages) and postgraduate teaching qualification from the University of Southampton and a Masters degree (MSc in People and Organisational Development) from the University of Sussex, as well as being a qualified leadership coach.

Maurine was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1984 and worked as a civil service lawyer until semi-retirement 2 years ago. She spent many years working in Magistrates Courts as a legal adviser and Deputy Justices' Clerk. She has experience across a number of areas of law but in later years specialised in family law, child care and child protection. She is currently a director of a tennis club and a trustee of a women's charity.

An ambitious Business student who stays organised, enjoys reading and playing FIFA. His strength lies in researching and undertaking leadership and management roles whilst having a people and task-focused approach. His strategic planning has also allowed him to support the vision of the College and of his retail workplace.

Sarah has a wealth of experience in Technical & Vocational Education. For the last 5 years she has worked in apprenticeships, including supporting education providers in the implementation of the government's reforms. Currently working for an independent training provider in the financial sector (Kaplan), Sarah works with high-profile clients to form world-class apprenticeship programmes in their businesses.

Tom Foakes is Director of the Museum of the Order of St John, London, where he has managed the £4.1 million Heritage Lottery Funded redevelopment of the museum galleries. Tom has worked previously for various arts institutions including small independent museums, Christie's Auctioneers and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. Tom is a Liveryman of the Drapers' Company and in his spare time is a keen skier and swimmer.

Tim spent his early career in the Royal Navy and saw operational service around the globe. More recently he has worked in the NHS, the leisure industry, run UK operations in Antarctica and been a regulator at the Charity Commission. He has led UK strategic projects, presented on leadership around the world and advised on crisis management. He is currently Chief Executive of a housing charity. He is a Liveryman of the Drapers Company and worked with Monoux students on the Lord Mayor's Dragons' Den challenge.

Anastasia is currently studying Biology, Chemistry and Geography, with the aspiration of becoming a healthcare worker, whether that be a doctor or an ODP. Being on the Board, she hopes to learn from the varied experiences of the other governors, and enrich her knowledge of governance and management, as well as being able to play her part effectively as a student governor by being the ultimate voice of her peers.

Riddhi has been an independent governor since 2013. She is a vice-chair of the Corporation and leads on Safeguarding and Prevent issues. Professionally she works in the private sector within financial services. She went to school in North London and graduated from Cambridge University.

Usha is a Professional Development Manager at a US Law Firm where her work involves partnering with individuals, teams and departments to be 'their best selves' professionally. She has spent her career in both the private and not-for-profit sector, using her skills as an anthropologist, executive coach and change-maker to identify, develop and enable future leaders and create more equitable opportunities especially for those from underrepresented communities. Usha is also a committee member of InterLaw Diversity Forum and City Women's Network. She previously completed her A-Levels at Sir George Monoux and her son currently attends the college.

Kwame is an Enterprise Risk Specialist working at Wells Fargo, with a background auditing financial services clients. Kwame spent part of his youth living in Walthamstow and still lives in East London. He is passionate about DE&I and improving social mobility.

After beginning her career in Retail, Natalie is now a partner at a global management consulting firm where works with organisations throughout the UK and Europe. Natalie specialises in organisation design and change management. She is particularly interested in how human behaviour influences organisational performance. Originally from the North West, Natalie studied Chinese at university and, after a period of living and working in China, now proudly calls Walthamstow home. She is passionate about widening access to careers within professional services and the importance of improving social mobility within society.

Pat has worked in Mathematics Education and Educational Leadership in London for most of her working life. She has held a wide variety of roles in school, from teacher to senior school leader and as a consultant has worked as an advisor for bodies such as the Department of Education and Ofqual. She is extremely interested in all aspects of teaching and learning.
