We have closed our open enrolment.

Enrolment for the current academic year is now strictly by invitation only (please do not come to the college uninvited). In order for us to give full consideration to your request can I ask you to submit an application via the college website (if you have not already done so) and then supply the following information and documentation by e-mail (preferably in the same e-mail) as soon as possible;

  1. All result slips/exam certificates you have received
  2. If you were aged 17 or older on 31st August 2023 we will require a reference from the school/college you attended during the 2022/23 academic year (this reference MUST contain a note of your attendance, punctuality, behaviour and reason(s) for leaving. Additional references may be required)
  3. If you have already enrolled with another school/college for the 2023/24 academic year we will require a reference from them (this reference MUST contain a note of your behaviour and reason(s) for leaving)
  4. A note of the course(s) you are interested in studying with us
  5. If you have already enrolled with another school/college for the 2023/24 academic year we will require a full explanation as to why you are looking to leave them
  6. A scanned copy (or photograph) of your passport (and any Home Office papers/visas you may hold)

Once we have received all of the information/documentation requested above we will contact you only if we are able to consider you for a place on a study programme. Given the lateness of this application I strongly encourage you to consider applying elsewhere as well as there is no guarantee that we will be in a position to offer you a place on a study programme.

The most important thing to do now is to submit an application via the college website here and take part in an interview. If you did not take part in a face to face or telephone interview whilst the college was open, we will be sending you arrangements for an interview at enrolment.

By now, your school will have sent you a message about how you will be awarded your GCSE grades this year.

Monoux will use the GCSE grades you will be awarded to make decisions on whether you meet the entry requirements for your preferred course. Current entry requirements are listed in the Monoux Prospectus, which you can download here or on the college website.

These are currently accurate, but can occasionally be subject to minor changes prior to and during enrolment.

We are flexible and see every young person as an individual. Therefore, if you have unique circumstances that you think we should be aware of please make sure you talk to us about these during your interview, by emailing info@sgmc.ac.uk or by talking to us at enrolment.

If you have applied, but not yet had an interview, we will be scheduling an interview at enrolment for you to speak to one of our friendly members of staff about your career ambition, interests, and the courses we offer.

Our Prospectus contains more detailed information about the courses we offer, and this page on our website contains some materials you could use to help decide.

If you have already had an interview, but would like further advice, please email info@sgmc.ac.uk with your query and a relevant staff member will respond.

We require references from your school before making a decision whether we can offer you a place. However, due to schools being closed, some schools may not be able to submit references before enrolment. If this is the case for you, we will let you know and request that you submit a copy of your most recent school report. We also expect students to let us know during the application and interview process if there would be something on your reference that we deem would require further exploration before a decision is made to offer a place (for example, poor attendance, punctuality or a fixed term exclusion). Please note: if you will be aged 17 or older on 31st August 2023 you must have a reference from your current (or most recent) school or college.

With regards to amending your course choices, you can change your mind up to the day of your enrolment if you so desire. We are aware that students sometimes change their minds or wish to pick up additional courses. However, you will have to meet the entry criteria for the courses you wish to study (entry requirements for our courses can be found on our website).

In the meantime, please contact us should you have any questions or concerns and continue to check our website for regular updates.

Unfortunately, it would not be possible for you to study G.C.S.E. English and Mathematics in isolation. Although we offer G.C.S.E. English and Mathematics they are only offered as part of a wider study package (i.e. alongside a BTEC Level Two or Three course).

It may be possible for you to apply to us to study the second year of a BTEC course for the 2023/24 academic year, however this is dependent on various circumstances and is by no means guaranteed.

In order for us to consider your request you would need to submit an application and discuss the options available to you during your enrolment interview.

It could be that we would only be able to consider you for a completely different programme to that you studied previously.

If you still wish to be considered for a place at Sir George Monoux College please apply on-line via our website. Our website has full details of all courses and subjects.

Unfortunately, the college operates a policy whereby students are not permitted to repeat/restart any A Level study. If you were to apply to the college we may be able to consider you for a BTEC Level Three programme or a completely different set of A Level subjects to those you studied previously.

If you still wish to be considered for a place at Sir George Monoux College please apply on-line via our website.

When we receive your application, you will be sent an acknowledgement followed by an invitation to enrolment by post or email giving you full details of our enrolment process including an exact time and date for you to enrol.

Unfortunately, we are not able to hold open a space for a prospective student nor are we able to allow anyone to enrol on your behalf. However, if you have evidence that you are currently out of the country we might be able to support you to enrol remotely - email info@sgmc.ac.uk

In the meantime, please contact us should you have any questions or concerns and continue to check our website for regular updates.
